US PT-boats announce their presence in the Med. A Kriegsmarine S-38 was sunk by overwhelming firepower and a well-placed torpedo severely damaged an Axis tanker (easily finished off with some close range cannon fire). One PT-boat might have been enough!

Once again, the speed, armament and durability of a Kriegsmarine E-boat withstood the onslaught of two Royal Navy MTBs. One Vosper was sunk, though the E-boat was damaged severely.

A meeting engagement between S-boots and Vospers. Though the S-boots were bloodied, they managed to sink several Vospers

While making their way back to port, 2 RN Vospers stumbled on a lone S-100 E-boat. Splitting to divide the enemy fire, both MTBs took withering fire, though blazing away as best they could. The starboard Vosper was sunk and the helm was jammed on the port Vosper. However, a lucky hit on the E-boat caused a torpedo to cook off, causing massive damage. HMG fire finished it off and the Type 1 Vosper picked up survivors, from both sides and limped home. (As the Allies, I finally won this scenario!)

Unfortunately, all the Allies had to use was a slow and obsolete Subchaser, on loan from the US (along with its crew!). While tasked to insert a “team” along the occupied French coast, the subchaser was spotted almost immediately. The bull-headed US Captain plowed ahead, destroying an S-38 class E-Boat and after losing the main gun and taking crew losses, was accidentally rammed by an S-100. Both ships took severe damage, but the Cutter recovered first and with withering 20 mm fire, left the second E-boat a flaming wreck. The “team” was delivered, but they may not want to linger along the coast as it gets swarmed by the Axis!

News had come in of one of our Type I Vospers burning off the enemy coast. We were able to cobble together a rescue squadron of 3 MTBs. As the crew was being hauled out of their rafts 2 E-boats showed up. One of our MTBs laid down a smoke screen, obscuring the rescue craft as well as an attack by one of our MTBs. Severe damage was caused to the lead E-boat and we were able to make our get-away with minimal damage. God Save the King!

These British sailors are heroic to a fault! Unfortunately for them, the Kriegsmarine has better and more powerful boats. They gave us some damage, but could not withstand the firepower we unleashed upon them. We attempted to pick them up, but they shouted, “No thanks! We’ll wait for the next boat! Cheerio, Jerry!” I saluted and made my way home. Kapitan Jesske

Log Entry: Attacked by 2 Royal Navy Vospers while escorting a tanker. The RN released 4 torpedoes and then sank the Lil Kira with cannon fire. One of the torpedoes appeared to hit the tanker but failed to explode. The tanker escaped into the mist and here we are waiting for rescue. Kapitan C. Jesske
