On the night of June 5th to 6th, 1944, the British paratroopers of the 5th Brigade of the 6th Airborne Division jump between Ranville and Bréville. They join the commandos of Major Howard who managed to seize the bridge of Bénouville (Pegasus Bridge) on the channel of Caen and the bridge of Ranville on the Orne. But unlike Ranville, Bréville, located on a height, allows the 346th German Division to repel the British at the dawn of June 6, 1944. The village has to be taken despite strong resistance from German forces.
Allied Intelligence warned that the 346th Division was well equipped and determined.
After multiple breakthroughs of the British paratroopers, constantly pushed back at the last moment, despite an impressive efficiency of the sniper, the German determination remains intact.
At the end of the day Bréville is still in the hands of the Axis, but it’s just the beginning of a long and harsh fight

Unfortunately, the training of the Paratroopes was too much, and with troops on both sides on top of the objective at the end, a draw was inevitable.
