Relax soldier, Paris has fallen. You deserve a rest!

In an effort to recruit new players I taught the game using US Paratroopers and Germans to two new players. The US overwhelmed the Germans through superior tactics.

Reports are coming in that a second surprise attack was launched on our armoured spearhead by the enemy.
A small strike force of escorted fighter bombers attacked our boys at approx 1400 hrs .yesterday
Although the alarm was raised to late, our lads were ready this time , getting the message to our waiting RAF interceptors.
Our brave fighters were quick to react and raced to assist.
During the intense aerial fighting several enemy aircraft were shot down before being driven off with only minimal losses to our own.
Reports of a second escort wave proved correct but the enemy fighters turned tail when challenged .
Our armoured spearhead continues unchallenged ..

750 points surrounded with house rules (replace the deployment rules with randomised board edge for both players) Part of a large set of three games

Objectives, Allies must silence the guns (who’s artillery observers were deployed in another game)

Armies:
Germans late war Regular Grenadier platoon with four squads MMG and mortar
Free French: An understrength US Airborne platoon (BRIGADE DE CHOC) re-enforced by local FFI.

Table, The central area was an artillery position, built around a central farm house, with bocage separating the central area form the fields on either side.

The Game: The FFI formed the first wave of the attack with one small squad moving directly to storm the farm yard (with little success), while the rest of the troops moved around the flanks, on the second turn the German Reinforcements arrived and smashed the Ffi’s Left Flank, only to have the two squads defending the farmyard collapse when they were assaulted by Paratroopers at the start of the third turn, At this point the Germans Conceded.

US PT-boats announce their presence in the Med. A Kriegsmarine S-38 was sunk by overwhelming firepower and a well-placed torpedo severely damaged an Axis tanker (easily finished off with some close range cannon fire). One PT-boat might have been enough!

2nd wave of american infantry landed without taking damage and were able to occupy the beaches trench network before germans advanced from the beach town to stop thier advance.

A rapid movement of rangers and engineers took the german defenders by surprise quickly driving them out of the village buildings with flamethrowers, bayonet charges and a very lucky mortar strike.

Off map artillery support wasn’t of any assistance for either side.

While making their way back to port, 2 RN Vospers stumbled on a lone S-100 E-boat. Splitting to divide the enemy fire, both MTBs took withering fire, though blazing away as best they could. The starboard Vosper was sunk and the helm was jammed on the port Vosper. However, a lucky hit on the E-boat caused a torpedo to cook off, causing massive damage. HMG fire finished it off and the Type 1 Vosper picked up survivors, from both sides and limped home. (As the Allies, I finally won this scenario!)
