The American first wave of infantry was destroyed but the following wave of Shermans managed to break through the Axis defences and clear the way for the second wave infantry.

The brave men of the Ox & Bucks Light Infantry executed a perfectly orchestrated coup de main against the unprepared garrison of the Caen Canal bridge. By the time the Germans had realised what was going on, the Paras were on the bridge and disarming the explosives. Even the timely arrival of reinforcements including Korporal Fönzy on his motorcycle combi was not enough to retake the bridge and the Germans scarpered.

The British forces stormed the well defended Normandy beach. Initial casualties were high but the timely intervention of the Royal Navy ably guided in by the Naval observer shattered the German right flank. With a huge gaping hole in the defences laid open before them the British streamed up the beach assaulting what tattered remnants remained and claiming victory.

2nd battle on event at Bolter Caffe. Axis must recapture Sainte-Mère-Église from the Allies.
Allies start dug in on table in 12′ from objectives captured in previous battle. Axis enter on short edge of table.
Italian paras and artillery does the great job killing 5 enemy units and recaptures 3 strategic points (3/5)
The battle ended in Italian win with 1 unit losed and 8 killed.

Inexperienced troops from A Company met Volkssturm from Das Heer in a bloody battle of Maximum Attrition near an abandoned French farmhouse. Sgt. Stone was the only one to walk away after dispatching the last German.
