Tow Trouble Again.

Really enjoying this scenario. The Allied were 2cm from getting the Sherman off the table.

A panzershcreck managed to roll a 1 on it’s Pen roll, only pinning the ARV, Those 2 pins were the game as the ARV attempted to order to move off the table and failed the order test because it still have one pin.

Great tense game again

Dispatched deep into enemy territory, a small squad of rangers were tasked with the rescue a beleaguered member of the 101st Airbourne, but after an ill-advised attempt to rescue a child one of the soldiers was shot and killed. Fallschirmjagers were closing in on the Americans. Opposing snipers kept each other occupied while the rest of the troop attempted to head north, clear of the opposition. They escaped, but not before their Bar Gunnner and 2nd Lt we’re shot down. This left only the American sniper, still in a stalemate with his German counterpart. The Germans swarmed in and quickly took out this lone soldier.

Advancing American infantry accompanied by a single Sherman ran into a small contingent of SS troops backed by a Panzer IV. The Sherman took out one of the Hanomags early and the Germans were quickly on their heels. The SS regrouped and put up some resistance, but the US Army overwhelmed the remaining Germans and captured the objectives.

Valiant solders of the American army were assigned the mission to recover a damaged Sherman. While completing this mission, they were attacked by German forces. Luckily the American troops held off the Germans in a short firefight while the ARV was able to recover the tank and retreat off the field.

Fallschirmjäger of Kampfgruppe Markt Grun engaged a US Armoured Infantry column at a Normandy bridge crossing.

Initial HE fire from the M3 Stuart takes out the Fallschirmjäger Sniper team in the upper floor of a nearby house to stop them popping off shots at the advancing US infantry. However a Panzerfaust shot from an upper floor window blew the Stuart apart in retaliation an instant later.

The supporting US halftrack deposited a unit of infantry onto the bridge who then raced across it & into the lower floor of the Fallschirmjäger occupied house. There they were subjected to merciless fire from 2 Fallschirmjäger squads & their Officer, before being assaulted & wiped out from the floor above!

The Fallschirmjäger Recoilless 10.5 Rifle then took out the US Halftrack. The US replied with MMG fire from a cottage they occupied & advancing more infantry behind their burning vehicles towards the bridge, but small arms & mortar fire whittled down their numbers until their Officer called a retreat leaving the Fallschirmjäger in control of the bridge.

Victory for Kampfgruppe Markt Grun!

Before considering the capture of Falaise, Clécy was a point of extreme resistance, held by much of the 21st Panzer Division and part of the 84th Corps.
The allies were prepared, but the intelligence services had largely underestimated the forces of the Axis.
After brilliant successive allied breakthroughs, a squad of SS still holds the crossroads of the bakery .. Despite having been shot hard, she holds and refuses to let go of this strategic crossroads.
At the end of turn 7, the intersection is still not taken, the informant hidden in the bakery was not recovered by British paratroopers. There will still be many fights to fight. Equality

The city of Caen was a very complicated theater of operation. The 1st Division had to fight a most complicated battle against a German division determined not to leave an inch of ground.
Thanks to the support of the British artillery batteries and the remarkable mobility of the various elements of the “Big Red One”, the tenacity of the axis eventually dulls after several days of fighting. The suburbs of Caen were in ruins, but these ruins belonged to the Allies
