289th Infantry Regiment versus 2nd SS Panzer Division in a fierce infantry engagement
The 101st engaged in a feirce battle with the 2nd SS Panzer Division. Many units were destroyed as the Germans attempted to envelope the American defenders. The Filthy 13 made quick work of a unit of Heer, SS, and an officer in Close Combat. In the end there were no clear victors on the battlefield.

The 101st were able to engage and eliminate 3 units of Falshimjager after suffering casualties and losing a unit. The 101st had multiple units struggle to follow orders after being pinned by incoming fire.

The Furious versus Kampfgruppe Reichardt in a fierce infantry engagement
A group of SS were on a Manhunt for an Allied officer they knew to be in a town. Rushing in they quickly got the upper hand despite the US Army’s attempts to keep them at bay. Three units of regular riflemen fell to assaults in close combat as the officer tried to escape. Eventually the German officer captured his prey.

352nd Pionier Battalion versus Irish Rangers in a fierce infantry engagement
The 352nd Pionier Battalion was positioned in the ruins of Caen, attempting to hold the city against advanced British units of the 21st Army Group. The British drew early blood, destroying the Pionier’s MG34 team with an artillery strike. But the tide turned against the British, losing their sniper team and FAO in quick succession. A small SMG Force close assaulted a PIAT team and then endured a rapid fire assault from a full strength rifle squad. Ultimately, the British withdrew, leaving the Pioniers to hold Caen.

German forces took the initiative early in the battle with a rush of infantry and personnel carriers, as snipers dogged the British advance. While the stoic boys of Old Blighty held on…they could not stop the dasterly Hun’s sesure of the objective. Resulting in a German win with 4-0 unit kills in the Wehrmacht’s favor!
