Germans were defending a town, Americans were trying to take it. They rolled on with mortars, AT guns, 2 sqds in halftracks and a Sherman. Their indirect drove the Germans from the ruins and buildings which resulted in a battle among the trees and bushes around the town. German reinforcements in a Hanomag rolled in and dropped a Panzerschrek team and a sqd of vet grenadiers and a CPT who ran his butt off to successfully bolster the troops who were run outs their cover. Panzerschrek did nothing useful, 2 halftracks went down to panzervfausts, the Sherman survived unscathed and in the end the Germans controlled 2 buildings and contested another. Bug win for the Axis.
The rematch will have my survivors holding for reinforcements while reinforced Americans drive for the town square again.
I think I uploaded the wrong picture.

First try for my opponent with firefight. This was a tense game. I ran for the ruins and a fight evolved for control of the hard cover which lasted the entire game. on the right flank we each had a LMG team and riflemen who battled it out. Or rather expended a lot of ammunition with little to show for it. He did manage to kill off one of my riflemen who was trying to flank around his LMG team and officer.
The game ended with each of us suffering 4 casualties. But, I controlled the ruins so to me it was a victory, but not really.

The fighting has been going on for days, with extreme intensity, too many days
Lieutenant-Colonel Otway reports to his Headquarters that he is no longer able to hold the front line with his men.
General Gale commanding the 6th Airborne Division understands the situation well and according to him, it is necessary to give freedom of action to his units by pushing the Germans beyond Bréville.
The capture of Bréville must be led by the 6th Airborne Reserve supported by a squadron of the 13th / 18th Royal Hussars and the 53rd Airlanding Regiment Royal Artillery.
Ten minutes before the attack, the English gunners opened fire and the Germans responded immediately with their own artillery. The assault is given, led by company C 12th Parachute Battalion : very quickly, the officers of this company are put out of action.
The paratroopers finally manage to enter the village of Bréville in flames, they only have about fifteen soldiers still able to fight (a Pioneer section of the 346th German Infantry Division has taken a heavy tribe to the Red Devils.)
Around 23:00 the village of Bréville is finally caught
All night, the position of Bréville is reinforced: the tanks of the 13th / 18th Royal Hussars settle before dawn.
The next day, the village is definitely in the hands of the Allies, but the losses are terrifying on both sides
The Germans will no longer manage to dislodge the Allies from the heights of Bréville during the following days.
The Allied progression can resume, many other battles are waiting to be conducted!

The Germans counter attacked. The British defended valiantly but in the end were taken out with superior firepower.

An under strength SS platoon accompanied by a Sturmtiger ambushed British paratroopers and a borrowed Churchill AVRE. Despite suffering horrific casualties in the opening seconds of the battle, including the Churchill, the paras recovered and pushed through the firefight, assaulting the enemy command element and destroying their communications equipment.

Well fought battle for sectors. One lucky artillery strike took out the remainder of the allied army

Sadly this may be my last game against toratora. He is thinking of selling his army due to lack of time to play. We are trying to convince him to hold onto it for when his schedule opens up. On the other hand, I might be starting a new army.
Nothing spectacular happened in this fight. It was filled with poor dice rolls on both sides and he ended with the win purely because he happened to be holding the objective on the last turn. It was a pure infantry fight with out even a transport or artillery piece. The first casualty did not even happen until turn 3.
