The Hounds versus 2nd SS Panzer Division in a fierce infantry engagement

Elements of the 2nd SS overran a scattered British paratrooper platoon, clearing them from the farmhouses after vicious close quarters combat. Though the British were routed, a commendation was reported for Private Biggs “Ball” Lovesteel, who took his PIAT into the heart of the German forces, killing several elite SS troopers before being being killed in melee.
