Lawn Darts Axis versus Terrible Trojans in a fierce infantry engagement
Played a 1000 point game on Sunday 6/2/2019 at Brookhurst. My German Normandy squad beat his American Normandy squad at the “Key Positions” scenario. The game started off luckily for me, when my Panzer IV destroyed his M-8 Greyhound on turn 1 as it came barreling down the road. After that, he had little that could hurt my tank except for a bazooka team that my infantry kept away from the tank. The game was called in turn 6 when held three of the four objectives handily.

Easy Red assault boat teams versus Resistance Nest 62 in a fierce infantry engagement
Hedgerow Hell scenario. Germans counterattack with heavy armor and have the Americans on the ropes, but the Americans are able to kill a Panther with a flamethrower and clear the fields.

After a hard fought battle the Germans finally destroyed all of the rampaging American forces. The final shots of the day came from a Flakvierling 38 that ended the career of the American LT. But, not before the LT drove off a squad of grenadiers and killed a Wehrmacht LT in close combat.
Other highlights were 3 panzer fausts slamming into a Sherman Jumbo after a failed airstrike caught it on fire and some incredibly accurate and deadly BAR fire dominated an entire flank of the battle field.

Silent Wings versus Hessler's Gas Guzzlers in a fierce infantry engagement
Sunday June 2
British Gliders take on the German Waffen SS.
The British and Germans slugged it out for 5 turns. On turn 1 both sides where Advancing and Counter- attacking. On the left flank the British advanced behind the building and on the right flank the Stug fired and kill some of British Infantry. Turn 2 the Puma took some snap shots at the British HMG and the Stug fire at the 6pdr missing it’s mark, the 6pdr returned fire and missed. Turn 3 the Stug destroyed the 6pdr, the British HMG destroyed the German trunk, the German and British Infantry where lock in furious combat killing and pinning each other down. Turn 4 the British PIAT team on the right flank destroyed the stug, the German sniper finally hit something after 3 turns of rolling 1’s killing the PIAT gunner on the left flank. After turn 4 it was all downhill for the German as the British advanced on both flanks. By turn 5 the Germans were in full retreat. Ending in an allied Victory.

Kelly’s un heroes tried again in vain to over run the captured free French position! first time taken and twice defended from a counter attack!
the French have truly earned the title ‘The Fighting French’ the last two days…

Kampfgruppe Otto versus Into the breach in a fierce infantry engagement
Commandos popped onto the bridge and grabbed a guy before the Germans even saw the enemy or could respond. We replayed it and axis won the second game when they got the first dice and so advanced and fired on the commandos. The game seems to come down to whoever draws a dice first. So we played a meeting engagement game afterwards unrelated to the campaign given how underwhelming it had been.
