Elements of the 922. Grenadier Regiment engaged with elements of the 502D PIR near Caen. A drawn out battle resulted in following casualties; the Germans lost a mortar team, a Hanomag, a squad, and it's officer element. The Airborne lost a Jeep, a squad, and an officer element. However, due to better positioning, it was a marginal victory for the Germans but it was not a decisive victory, and thus both sides claimed a draw.
