A detached element of the 101st SS Heavy Panzer Battalion from the 1st SS Panzer Division Leibstandarte SS Adolf Hitler consisting of three Tiger I tanks ambush an American armoured column. Despite inflicting severe losses on the Allied tanks, the lone remaining Tiger I command tank had a track blown, stopping it in the middle of the street. One of the two remaining Sherman's zipped past and fired a high velocity tank round into into the vulnerable rear armor of the Tiger. The round successfully penetrated and the resulting explosion blew the last Tiger I sky high.
